Remove Alert CenterThis tip tells you how you can hide / remove the 'Alert Center' icon in the Windows 7 taskbar. There are two ways to do this, both are described below.

This is how you hide 'Alert Center icon' in Windows 7 Taskbars Notification Area

1. Right-click the Windows 7 Start menu and select Properties, and then click Taskbar tab. Under 'Notification Area' click on 'Customize'.

2. The notifications 'Area menu' will now appear. Find 'Action Center', and select ''Hide icon and notifications."

Tip: 'Hide icon and notifications' will hide the icon and the messages are not displayed. It is also possible to select the Show messages only, so the icon is hidden, but the program triggers a notification balloon, that appears on the taskbar.

3. Remember to check the item 'Always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar' does not have a marked check box, if so remove it.

4. Click OK and you're done.
