Add Quick Launch barIn the previous guide we showed you how to make the process bar look and feel more like the Vista and XP bar, but we did not mention the Quick Launch bar which is not difficult to add. You should though be aware, that the new process bar gives you the ability to gather elements on the process bar that combines the functions of both the normal process bar and the Quick Launch bar.

Picture below shows the Windows 7 process bar, after its its been changed back to Vista/XP look, and with the Quick Launch bar added

Adding the Quick launch bar back in Windows 7

To get the toolbar back, you have to right-click on an open area on the taskbar, and choose Toolbars \ New Toolbar from the menu. It would also be a good idea to unlock the taskbar at this  point

Here comes the tricky part, you have to paste the following path into the location bar

%appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

Make sure that the location bar shows the full path, like the next screenshot, before you choose the "Select Folder" button

You will notice the Quick Launch bar right away, on the right side.

Click on the dotted line and drag it all the way over to the left .This can be a little tricky some times..Note:Make sure the taskbar is unlocked at this point.

The old Quick Launch that we're used to doesn't have text, so right-click on the dotted lines and uncheck "Show Text" as well as "Show Title" from the menu

When everything is like you want it to be, it would be a good idea to lock the taskbar again.

Toolbar and Quick Launch is back and its hard to tell this is Windows 7.

Your are currently browsing this site with Internet Explorer 6 (IE6).

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
