Tips og tricks til Windows 7In Windows 7 it is possible to run with dedicated region themes that change the background image and other interface improvements that are unique to the place where the copy of Windows 7 has been bought. So far you can find five of these, read more for instructions.

Working zones for now are Australia, Canada, Great Britain, USA and South Africa.

To activate the different themes, you have to do as follows.


  • Go to \Windows\Globalization\MCT\
  • In the folder, you find five folders which each represents a region.
  • Open the themes folder in one of the available foldes and double click on the xx(filename).theme file to activate the current theme.
  • Repeat theese steps in all five folders and you will be able to use all of the region themes.

Update:

If you can't see the folder MCT, deactivate hidden system files. If you dont know how, follow the simple steps bellow.

Go to Computer and keep your ALT button pressed down and a new menu will appear, in this you navigate to Tools -> Folder Options.

In the Folder Options menu you press View and scroll to the point of the list where you will find 'Hide proteceted system files (Recommended)', remove the check mark and press Apply and Ok.

You are now able to see the MCT folder.
