Defrag in Windows 7Windows 7 standard defrag tool offers some more control than the one we saw in Windows Vista. The command line version has some new interesting features, like defragging multiple drives.

  • The /r switch will defrag multiple drives in parallel (Different physical drives).
  • The /h switch runs the defragging at a higher priority.
  • The /u switch provides progress reports regularly.
  • Defrag /? Gives you all the new options listed.

Open a command prompt and type in “defrag /c /h /u /r to fast defrag a system with multiple drives.
