Windows 7 comes out of the box without some of the standard applications from Windows Vista. Among these are Windows Mails, Photo Gallery and the Family Safety program, to install these you need to use Windows Live Essentials Applications.Go to Windows Live Downloads and look to the right at the bottom of the screen, from here you can pick your download and start installing.
Microsoft has made this move to make updating easier and as a respond to the European Unions verdict, which stated that Microsoft was monopolizing on their software, like mail and Internet Explorer by having them preinstalled in Windows installations.
When installed, these programs will occur in the Windows Live folder in the Start menu of your Windows 7.
