These figures are still vague when comparing to the at the time most popular Windows release to date, Windows XP, which still have an impressive market share of 63%. These figures are however quite certain to change once Windows 7 is released, and XP users who did not like Windows Vista, finally migrate to a new operative system. The release of the public build of Windows 7 has made quite an impact on the market shares of operative systems; according to new figures Windows 7 has a total market share of 0.1%. This is quite impressive for an operating system not even nearly done and if you compare to the market share held in December, the figure gets even more impressive. In December last year, Windows 7 had an official market share of 0.01% compared to Januarys 0.10, quite a boost for an operating system yet to be released.
