In an article from TG Daily, Bill Veghte (Microsoft senior VP) is quoted for having said that Microsoft expects to sell no less than 177 million copies of Windows 7 in 2009. Bill explained that this is the first time in two decades that Microsoft has actually turned away people, who wanted to try their new operating system.
