Black screen after Windows 7 Install 1 Year, 7 Months ago Karma: 0
Some users especially Asus have had troubles installing Windows 7,as there seems to be a bug when using 2 monitors. So if you experience this unplug one of them, and then install Windows 7 again..

If you already have the bug try pushing Ctrl+Alt+Delete and see if it removes the black screen. If not you can try starting in safe mode by hitting F8 just before Windows 7 loads..

Once you get to the desktop open notepad and copy the following in.

displayswitch /extend
displayswitch /internal

Now save the file as a .bat file..You could call is display.bat

Put the file in the windows startup folder..
C:/ProgramData/Microsoft/Windows/Start Menu/Programs/Startup, where C is the letter of the drive Windows 7 is installed on..

Reboot and Windows 7 should load correctly now

Another tip is to remove all USB units except Mouse/keyboard and reboot.

1. When you are under black screen condition, if your mouse and keyboard are still usable, and you are lucky enough to have a dialog window (usually "My Document", use this window to go
Cor whatever drive that stores your operation system) -> "Windows" folder -> find an application called "explorer", double click and open it. Now you should be able to get your screen back to normal.
2. If you don't have a dialog window, press "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "Delete" together and transfer the screen back to the login page. Click "Task Manager" -> Click "Application" tab -> Click "New task" -> type in "explorer" and then press "Enter" key. Now you should get the desktop screen.
3. Press the Start button (the one with window icon, at the lower left corner), open the "Run" program (if you can't find it in the menu, type "run" in the search bar and search for it). Type "regedit" to open the registry editor.
4. Go to this root:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesSystem
Under this root, you should see a item named "Shell", if the data value of "Shell" is "C:WindowsExplorer.exe C:Windowssystem32tlntsvi.exe", here is the MALWARE!
The correct value should be "C:WindowsExplorer.exe" only, whatever following this command is the bad guy that brings your computer to black screen of death.
5. Now MARK DOWN the NAME of the malware (in my case, mine is "tintsvi.exe", because this malware is known to have different names. So far I've seen "tintsvi" and "pnkx".
Now delete whatever command that follows "C:WindowsExplorer.exe". Close the registry editor.
Start "Search" program, type in the malware name (in my case, "tintsvi" and search the remains of the malware. You SHOULD find something in the "Windows" folder. I've found a "tintsvi8973.exe" application as well as a weird file called "Servx.exe" under "C:WindowsSystem32" folder. Since "servx" and "tintsvi8973" were created at almost the same time, I believe it is a malware
6. Restart, the black screen problem should be solved.

Your are currently browsing this site with Internet Explorer 6 (IE6).

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
